The County of San Diego Aging and Independence Services (AIS) is soliciting proposals to operate The Feeling Fit Program, an evidence-based group exercise program for older adults focused on strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health to reduce fall risk and improve quality of life. The selected contractor will offer regularly scheduled classes at accessible community sites throughout the county, track participant outcomes, and submit required reports to AIS. The program must align with the Older Americans Act (OAA) requirements and County aging services standards. This contract replaces expiring Contract #566079.
• Certified fitness instructors (ACE, ACSM, or equivalent) for all classes • Evidence-based program model (e.g., Enhance Fitness, Matter of Balance, or equivalent) • ADA-accessible class locations countywide • Pre/post assessments tracking balance, strength, and fall risk indicators • Older Americans Act (OAA) compliance and reporting • General Liability Insurance: $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate • Background checks for all instructors • Quarterly outcome reports submitted to AIS • Minimum of [X] class sites distributed across geographic service areas • Data collection per County AIS data standards
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, senior centers, fitness organizations, or health-focused agencies with demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based physical activity programs to older adults (age 60+). Organizations must be able to site classes at ADA-accessible locations throughout the county and employ certified fitness instructors.
