The County of San Diego Department of General Services is soliciting proposals from licensed plumbing contractors to provide as-needed plumbing services on a task-order basis at County-owned and operated facilities. Services include repair and replacement of pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and backflow prevention devices; clearing of stoppages; and minor remodeling-related plumbing work. Contractors must respond to routine service calls within 24 hours and emergency calls within two hours. This contract replaces expiring Contract #569717. All work is subject to California prevailing wage requirements.
• California C-36 Plumbing Contractor's License (active) • All field personnel must be licensed journeyman plumbers or apprentices under a licensed journeyman • Backflow prevention tester certification (AWWA or equivalent) for at least one technician • General Liability Insurance: $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate • Workers' Compensation Insurance per California law • DIR (Department of Industrial Relations) public works registration • Prevailing wage compliance for all labor • 24-hour response for routine work; 2-hour emergency response • References from at least two public agency or institutional plumbing contracts
Applicants must hold a valid California Contractor's License with a C-36 (Plumbing) classification. The firm must employ California-licensed journeyman plumbers and have a minimum of three years of demonstrated experience providing plumbing services to public agencies or institutional facilities.
