The County of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department is soliciting proposals for bus transportation services to support community parks programs, senior excursions, youth field trips, sports leagues, and special events. The contractor will provide motor coaches, minibuses, or accessible buses as required, along with licensed drivers. Drivers must hold a valid California Class B commercial license with a passenger (P) endorsement. Vehicles must be ADA-compliant with wheelchair lifts or ramps where required. • CHP Motor Carrier Permit and California carrier operating authority • Class B CDL with passenger (P) endorsement for all drivers • Clean MVR: no DUI or reckless driving violations within 3 years • ADA-compliant vehicles with operational wheelchair lifts/ramps • CARB diesel particulate filter or clean-fuel compliance • Current CHP BIT (Biennial Inspection of Terminals) passing status • Auto Liability Insurance: $5,000,000 per occurrence (passenger carrier) • General Liability Insurance: $1,000,000 per occurrence • Workers' Compensation Insurance • Vehicle must arrive 15 minutes early to each scheduled pickup • 24-hour cancellation notice policy clearly stated
Eligible applicants must hold a California Highway Patrol (CHP) Motor Carrier Permit and a valid California carrier operating authority. Drivers must hold a current Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and clean driving records. All vehicles must have a current CHP inspection sticker and meet California Air Resources Board (CARB) diesel emission standards.
