The County of San Diego Public Works Department is soliciting quotes for as-needed supply of precast concrete manhole components for stormwater drainage system construction and maintenance projects. Required items include precast concrete risers, eccentric cones, grade rings, flat slab bases, and frames and covers as specified. All components must conform to County standard drawings and applicable ASTM and Caltrans standards. Materials will be ordered on a task-order basis as project needs arise. This contract replaces expiring Contract #572549. Small and local businesses are encouraged to apply.
• ASTM C478 compliant precast concrete manhole sections • Products conforming to County of San Diego Standard Drawings and Caltrans Standard Plans • Minimum 4,000 psi compressive strength (28-day) per ASTM C39 • ASTM A615 Grade 60 reinforcing steel (where required) • Caltrans pre-qualified products list (METS approved) preferred • Products manufactured at ISO 9001-certified or PCI-certified facility preferred • Standard lead time: 15 business days; rush availability (7 business days) for emergency projects • Delivery to designated County job sites throughout San Diego County • Product data sheets and ASTM test reports provided with each order • Product Liability Insurance: $1,000,000 per occurrence • Auto/Freight Liability: $1,000,000 per occurrence for delivery vehicles
Eligible vendors include precast concrete product manufacturers and construction material suppliers serving the San Diego region. Products must be manufactured at a facility with documented quality control testing per ASTM standards. Vendors must demonstrate the ability to fulfill orders within the lead times specified in the contract.
